Hello everyone! It is officially June first! I know y’all know what that means🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈

Yep, that’s right. It’s PRIDE MONTH! Gosh, I never thought this month would come. Last year was my first one being fully out, and even though I didn’t do much and last year’s project flopped (really, really hard) I still really enjoyed and was eager for the next one. I know these last few years have been so rough for all of us, but especially those in the queer community. Not only has the pandemic made life pretty scary, but it has also managed to bring out the worst in a lot of people. Racial injustice, war on reproductive rights, injustice against the disabled, and anti-Queer rhetoric, policies, and sentiments have become even more apparent than they already were (if that’s possible). Even with these dire issues plaguing the community from both within and without, we continue to fight for inclusivity for everyone, and if nothing else, that fact, along with how awesome we queers are in general, definitely deserve some celebration.

For some of us, Pride Month is shifting towards being in-person this year, but for many others, the dangers of the ongoing Pandemic make in-person events daunting or not an option at all. I just wanted to take the time to say that no matter how you choose to celebrate (or not celebrate), that is completely valid. Just be sure to stay safe, cultivate inclusivity, and be kind.

In an effort to add to the festivities of the month, I’m planning on dropping tons of Pride-themed content. Each day will be me showcasing a creative project, an informational or personal blog post, and maybe even some cool merch😉 Just make sure to watch The Raven’s Sandbox’s FB page for updates. If anyone is interested in sharing their content on the blog, feel free to reach out via my contact info on the Sandbox’s homepage

Well, I’ll see all of you lovely humans tomorrow. Hopefully day 1 of Pride treats you well
